Project Manager
About CANY
CANY is a New York based architectural and engineering building enclosure consultancy who, for over 25 years, have protected and conserved the city’s incredible built historical heritage and embraced its future with innovative solutions for new buildings rooted in sustainability.
We’re looking for creative people who are curious with a sense of adventure to contribute to the hugely diverse disciplines that make CANY the success it is. We’re offering exceptional opportunities working with existing and new buildings, being out in the field, hands-on and highly responsive with projects as prestigious as the Empire State Building to modern building enclosures using the sharpest technology in sustainability to secure the city’s long-term future.
About The Role
We’re looking for leaders who think differently, are innovative, see the overview but understand the details. We want people with extensive experience in our niche who bring projects in on time, on budget but in ways that allow teams to flourish and clients to come back for more. We want leaders with excellent evaluation abilities to set the pace, create the plan, and bring it to life with thoughtful accuracy and agility to make informed adjustments. Multi-layered, the role requires dexterity of thought, attention, and processing, while maintaining a steady focus on the needs of the client, project health and the cohesiveness of the project teams.
We’re looking for someone to manage expectations, avoid surprises, and deliver the best possible outcome. That requires exceptional communication skills, including active listening, integrity, and transparency. From telling the bigger story to all stakeholders through documentation, drafting and development to the smaller stories in texts, emails, and WhatsApp.
CANY occupies a fascinating space in New York’s built environment and our people are rightly proud of the work they do. As Project Manager you will champion that, within CANY and the wider industry. It’s a pivotal position. The experience and expertise within the company is considerable, so your job is to enable everyone not to look to you for solutions, but to foster collaboration, skill-sharing, and information exchange. You will have the experience to enable your teams to organize, plan, prioritize and manage their time effectively to strike the work-life balance we want everyone to enjoy.

Familiarity with CAD, NYC Scaffold Certifications, OSHA certifications are a bonus. Finally, you must be someone who cares as much as we do about New York, its heritage, future, and people.
