Allister Shuffler first priority is giving back, using his talents and passion for buildings to provide a public service from the private sector. The second is reducing carbon emissions in NYC, having experienced, in his own family, childhood asthma exacerbated by environmental factors. At CANY, he gets to do both. Allister blends his extensive experience in restoration with new construction, balancing the environmental and financial cost of short-term repairs with more long term, sustainable solutions. He is excited by hybrid projects that integrate modern construction with heritage buildings, addressing the city’s decreasing space and increasing demand, and protecting and sustaining its architectural legacy.
