Consulting Associates of New York (CANY) Director of Operations Ed Meirowitz began in the curtainwall fabrication and erection field in 1972 and came up through the ranks in firms like Collyer, Collyer-Sparks and Zimmcor where he worked on a wide range of projects including the Meadowlands Sports Complex, the World Trade Center, the Javits Convention Center, Trump Tower and many others. In 1993 Ed became Vice President of Peter Corsell Associates (PCA), a prominent building envelope consulting firm, where he met CANY’s Principal Associate Jarrett Huddleston who had been working as an independent consultant to PCA for a decade. Jarrett’s expertise in Local Law 10/80 and 1/98, masonry, roofing and waterproofing complimented Ed’s vast experience in curtainwall and window systems and the two quickly formed a professional partnership.

Beginning as Consulting Associates, Inc. in 1994, the firm has grown to more than twenty members, eventually becoming Consulting Associates of NY, Inc. or “CANY” as it is known today. In 2008 Kazimierz Cader, PE, consultant to the firm since its inception became one of CANY’s corporate officers as Director of Engineering, expanding CANY’s services to include in-house structural engineering and special inspection. Assisted by a rigorously trained and highly experienced supporting staff, CANY’s Principals and Senior Associates bring to every project the commitment and expertise required to provide cost effective solutions for new and existing building enclosures.
