Location: 20-40 7th Avenue

Constructed in 1962-63 by Albert Ledner, the Curran Building served as the headquarters for the National Maritime Union of America.  Later sold to Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Center and renamed the O’Toole Building, this large five-story structure is a striking contemporary design featuring a steel frame with precast concrete panels, full-height curved glass-block walls at the ground floor, and two overhangs dramatized by their scalloped-edge profiles.

CANY Project scope included landmark restoration services, roof replacement, and consulting services for modification of the building’s use.
